Can I direct the session live, or is it recorded remotely and sent over?
Voiceover sessions are typically either recorded remotely and delivered in the client’s preferred format, or directed live via a remote listening link while the artist records. I offer both – happy to take direction beforehand for things like tricky pronunciations, or have you listen in and direct as we go, whatever suits the project.
Does the price include full usage rights, or is that separate?
Voiceover pricing typically has two components: a session fee, covering the artist’s time and the recording itself, and a usage fee, covering the rights to use the recording for advertising, broadcast or other public distribution. For commercial and broadcast work, usage is usually charged separately depending on where and how long the audio will run; for corporate, e-learning or internal projects, it’s often included in the quoted price. I’ll always confirm usage with you upfront, so there are no surprise costs later.

How quickly can a project be turned around?
Turnaround time for voiceover work generally depends on script length and any extra skills involved, such as lip-syncing, which takes longer. Most straightforward projects can be turned around within a couple of working days of terms being agreed.
What accent(s) does Laura offer?
Most voice artists work in their natural accent, which suits the majority of commercial and corporate briefs. My natural accent is RP/Standard English. I also perform a wider range including Cockney, MLE, Estuary, Northern, Scottish, Irish, various American and several European accents — developed over more than a decade as a stand-up comedian and impressionist, including regular performances on BBC Radio 4.
